The new animated adaptation of the Baki manga by Keisuke Itagaki has revealed more members of his team and his leading voice. Nobunaga Shimazaki will be responsible for putting the voice to the character that gives name to the series, Baki.
Toshiki Hirano will be the director of the anime under TMS Entertainment, being the scripts of Tatsuhiko Urahata and the character designs of Fujio Suzuki.
Recall that Netflix will debut the series in the summer of 2018 in Japan and in the fall of 2018 in the rest of the world, consisting of 26 episodes
The manga Baki the Grappler by Itagaki was published in the Shonen Champion from 1991 to 1999, following Baki 2 from 1999 to 2005. Hanma Baki was published in the same magazine from 2005 to 2012. Baki has received several sequel manga, two animated series for television and even an OVA. Baki-Dou started in March 2014 in the Weekly Shonen Champion, being the third sequel to the original Baki.
Synopse
Baki is raised by his wealthy and money-obsessive mother, Emi Akezawa, who also funds his training in the hopes that he can be a powerful warrior like his father. Around the start of the series, Baki outgrows traditional training and heads out to follow the path of his ruthless father's training and meets many powerful fighters along the way. Eventually, Baki fights his father and is beaten without a challenge.
After being beaten, Baki travels around the world continuing his training. Years down the road he finds an underground fighting arena where he fights some of the most powerful fighters of all styles of martial arts. It is here he truly begins to hone his martial arts skills.
